Tuesday,
January 18, 2005 1/8 - 5:30 PM - Enterprise
Forum The Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum presents:
Entrepreneurship on Established ePlatforms: Venturing in a
Connected World With the missteps of its dotcom
infancy behind, e-commerce is now a serious, fast growing part
of business life. Amazon, eBay, Google and others have proved
the effectiveness of their original goals - even setting
performance standards that old line IT systems rarely have
met. As these companies mature, their reach is expanding well
beyond initial business models to create -- indeed nurture --
platforms and environments for entrepreneurs big and small.
Thus, beyond eBay's strong 3rd party support program (which
has spawned a huge developer community), it has catalyzed
independent ventures including a brick-and-mortar network of
auction agents.
Led by pioneer Bill Gross's keynote,
today's speakers and panelists will contribute their
experience, insight and vision about present and future
opportunities arising from the electronic commerce arena of
our ubiquitous, online, high bandwidth world.
