Thursday, March 24, 2005 Time: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM All Things Tequila!
“All Things Tequila!” brings to life the world of tequila from deep within the wells of the agave plant. Explore all there is to know about the spirit that is feared by some and loved by many more. Moderator Evan Kleinman, host of KCRW’s “Good Food,” will join Anthony Dias Blue, wine and spirits editor of "Bon Appetit" magazine, and Carolyn Baer, executive chef and owner of Cheers Catering Inc., as they take the mystery out of this traditional Mexican drink. Explore tequila’s history and origins, and discover firsthand the difference between plato, reposado, and añejo tequilas by sampling some of the most popular and traditional Mexican tequila brands. This spirited tasting highlights the many uses of tequila in food with such samples as grilled chicken pasta in a tequila cream, tequila braised mushrooms, and even a bread pudding made with tequila.
