I was saddened and dismayed to learn about Papo's passing. I feel fortunate for the time I was able to spend with him and the fond memories. Papo was such a talented artist. His pieces were so powerful that they practically reached out their hand and slapped you across the face. I remember the first time I saw Papo's work, I truly felt that there was something larger than life about this artist. He was a great man with a contagious smile that really cared about people who were less fortunate................
Thanks Papo! Al Herion
Papo & I, although we didn't know each other well...we had some very interesting conversations. I do remember one thing he said to me. I not sure if it is the correct words, but it was something like this...
"We don't have a society if we destroy the environment."
Somehow, that has always remained in my thoughts. Papo was right, about many things. He opened my eyes to my environment & surroundings. To have the encouragement to motivate ourselves, to motivate others, to have the courage, & to make a change. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow. That is fine as well...but as long as we keep trying.
Papo will be greatly missed. Much love, thoughts & prayers are sent to his family.
Much love, Tara
