South Asia Tsunami Relief Efforts
The community spirit of Olvera-Street.com transcends our street in Los Angeles, as we feel a great sense of horror and loss about the recent tragedy in Southern Asia.
The tsunami is already the worst natural disaster in at least a quarter century. And the casualties are still being counted.
As of January 4, 2005, Reuters and BBC were reporting 150,000 confirmed deaths, and both sources indicated that officials expected the total to climb. The number of casualties is approximately the same as those who have died in the current Iraqi War.
